If Rekha takes 20 days to finish the job, that means that she finishes one twentieth of the work in one day. (1/20)

 If Pawan takes 30 days to finish the job, that means that he finishes one thirtieth of the work in one day. (1/30)

 Together, they will do one twelfth of the job in one day as shown in the following calculation:

       1/20 + 1/30

     = 1/12

 If together they do one twelfth of the work in one day, then that means that in twelve days they will reap the field.
