Let the distance = x km and speed = y km/hr
Then,
x/y - x/(y+3) = 30/60
=> (x(y+3) - xy)/y(y+3) = 1/2
=> 3x / y(y+3) = 1/2

x/ (y-2) - x/y = 40/60
=>( xy-x(y-2))/y(y-2) = 2/3
=> 2x/y(y-2) = 2/3

=> 2 = y+3/y-2
