  • ✎ In case of an interrogative sentence, if the sentence in Direct Narration is in Simple Past Tense; it is changed to Past Perfect Tense in Indirect Narration.

  • ✎ If the interrogative sentence starts with a wh-question word, then the wh-question word is used as conjunction in Indirect Narration.

  • ✎ The time phrase "yesterday" in Direct Narration is changed to "the previous day/ the day before."

  • ➬ The verb that introduce the Direct Narration is called Reporting Verb.

  • ➬ In Indirect Narration, the words of the speaker is expressed without speech marks and without necessarily using exactly the same words, keeping the meaning same.

  • ➬ Unlike Direct Narration, there is the need of using "that" or any necessary conjunction instead of the the Comma (,) in Indirect Narration.

  • ➬ There is also needed some grammatical changes while changing the speech from Direct Narration to Indirect Narration.
