As we know that

Power = Work/ Time

watt = joule / second

So if the time is taken as unity then we can define watt in terms of joule

Therefore, one watt power is equal to one joule work when the time taken is unity.

Hey there !

Power = Energy/ time

SI Unit of energy is Joule(J)
SI Unit of time is seconds(sec)

Hence ,
Power = Joule/sec

But , the SI Unit of power is Watt(W)

Hence ,

1 W = 1 Joule per second

Hope this helps you !
