let the length of spring be L
spring constant =K
if it cut into two parts 1:2
so length of small part is L/3 and of large part is 2L/3
let assume that ,spring constant of larger part is X
as we know
K ∝ 1/L------1
then
X ∝ 1/(2L/3)-----2
after dividing both equation
K/X = 2/3
so
X = 3K/2
