Through the displacement equation, we can relate the particle with its amplitude.

y = A * sin(wt + ∆) where ∆ is initial phase, and A is amplitude.

By differentiating the equation with respect to t, we also get equations of velocity and acceleration of the particle.

Thus we got the relation between amplitude and a particle exhibiting SHM.

Hope this helps;-)
