To derive with a relation between escape velocity and orbital velocity:
- Orbital velocity (V₀) is given by the formula : √(GM / R)
- Escape velocity is given by the formula : √ (2GM / R)
( Where 'G' represents Universal Gravitational constant, 'M' represents Mass of the massive body, and 'R' represents the radius of the body (spherical))..
Escape velocity : √ (2GM / R) -
It can be further written as:
√2 × √(GM / R); where √(GM / R) can be replaced by Orbital velocity :-
So, it is nothing, but: escape velocity = √2 (V₀)..
Hence, it can be concluded that: Escape velocity = √2 ( Orbital velocity)
