The proportionality constant (e/2m), reflects the relationship between the magnetic moment and angular momentum of a Bohr orbit electron and is a fundamental quantity of quantum magnetism. It is therefore given a special symbol γe and the name magnetogyric ratio of the electron and is defined as a positive quantity.
