Thermal conductivity is defined as the heat transfer through a cross section of unit area and having unit temperature gradient.

Thermal resistance is defined as resistance offered by material against flow of heat and reciprocal of thermal resistance is known as thermal conductance

Thermal conductivity = heat flow rate × distance / (area × temperature gradient).

Thermal conductance (W. K-1 ) is the quantity of heat that passes in unit time through a plate of particular area and thickness when its opposite faces differ in temperature by one degree.
