EMF: The energy required to keep voltage which in turn causes the flow of current possible when a conducting path is created is called as EMF.

EMF is directly proportional to the current.

EMF is also used to find the Gibbs energy equation.

Gibbs energy equation,

dG = -sdT + vdP + EdQ
