Relationship between fluorescence intensity and concentration

To a first approximation, fluorescence is directly proportional to concentration. This relationship holds for relatively dilute solutions, but begins to deviate from linear as the concentration increases. Eventually, the concentration becomes so high that you can no longer treat the fluorescent molecules as being independent of each other.
