Both the grandmother and the granddaughter loved each other very much. The old lady loved to cook for and feed the child. The child in turn read out to the plt illiterate grandmother episodes of a serialized novel *karmaveera* ,a Kannada weekly. she even taught the old lady to read and write. Both had a good understanding and rapport with each other.
