My own Note: Throughout the book of Ramayana we see that Hanuman is very loyal to Rama and his group of friends. But I wanted to show that Hanuman has been a loyal character his whole life. We can see how great of a friend he is to Rama, Sugriva and other characters in the book by the selfless acts he does for other. Hanuman really impressed me when I found out he left Kishkindhya with Sugriva when he was escaping from death. Buck tells the readers that Hanuman was Sugriva's only friend left. It is sad considering how unfortunate Sugriva's situation was. He lost his wife, his people, and his brother all in one day. My approach to this story was to go inside of Hanuman's mind after he went into exile with Sugriva. It could not have been easy for Hanuman considering he could return to Kishkindhya and live his life normally, but he chose to stay with his friend Sugriva. At any given point Hanuman can leave Sugriva but he decides not to. In these diary entries we can tell how Hanuman is considered a true friend.
