Political equality falls under the government's responsibility. That leaves social equality in our hands. If we want to live in a world where every person is treated equally, we must start by treating everyone in our world equally.
Now, I am not suggesting that the government should not help in the effort, but I do think we have come to rely too much on the government and expect it to do out the job in many cases.
