The difference between theory and paradigm is that theory provides an explanation while paradigm works as a theoretical or philosophical framework. Paradigm and theory are two different concepts but are related to one and another, a single paradigm can have various theories.

Theories are testable and can also be proved to be wrong because they have an evidence.  The theory is based on observations and experiments using various research methods. The tests are used to examine the theory again and again in order to verify it for example Newton's Law.

Paradigm is much broader they are not
as comprehensive as theories. There are paradigms which lay behind the theories for conducting research and observations. Paradigm basically works as a frame of reference, and another interesting fact about paradigms is that; two paradigms cannot stand together
