The time taken for one complete oscillation in the density of the medium is called the time period of the sound wave. The number of oscillations per unit time is the frequency of the sound wave. Frequency and time period are related as follows :
v = 1 by T, that is, 1 divided by T
where v is frequency and T is time period.
