- Let velocity of a wave be V , time period be T , frequency be f and wavelength be λ.
- Wavelength (λ) = Distance travelled by the wave in one time period
- Wavelength (λ) = Wave velocity × Time period
- Wavelength (λ) = V × T
- VT = λ
- But , we know , T = 1 ÷ f
- T is time period , f id frequency.
- So, V × 1 ÷ f = λ
- V = fλ
➺Wave velocity = Frequency × Wavelength (V = fλ)
