- Public Administration or for that part Politics, is not a compartmentalized set of activities, having a seperate domain where it acts on and having no linkages at all with society. Ultimately, society is a realm where the the effects of Public Administration can be seen. After all, every structure or institution was created with the purpose of managing the complex society and streamlining it into a coherent whole. In that case, organisation was the sole aim. The same logic applies to the Public Administration with respect to society and societal environment.
- Since, there is a two way connection between society and Public Administration, societal environment influences Public Administration too. Public Administration when seen as a regulator,it is entrusted with regulating those affairs that arise in society. Public Administration manages and creates solution to problems but it doesn’t create societal problem neither does it destroys it. However, exception to this point of view is plausible enough.
- For instance, disputes arising out of lack of education due to lack of facilities and awareness about the need of school or education, is a problem that arises in society but the problem is dealt by administrators, who offers solutions. In that part, administrators act in the social sphere and provides solutions maintaining a balance with the social order in place. For I believe, that social change is the domain of revolution but social reform and increasing efficiency of the society is the role of the administrators. When “Private” is substituted in place of “Public” than administration aspects extends to organizational efficiency of private entities.
- From sociological point of view, it can be definitely argued that those administrators are after all, a product of the society and their actions, decisions and mental framework is a manifestation of the society in which they grew and developed.
