Marketing helps bring together the work of other areas - manufacturing, research, sales and helps to place the final product or service in front of the world. The branding, brand image, price, product, promotion and place elements are driven by marketing. This is the business side of things.

Withing the organization, marketing is responsible for internal communication and maintaining a sense of citizenship behavior among the employees. For many employee centred campaigns ( for example, a campaign to improve the responsiveness among employees), the HR and marketing departments work together to build and execute the campaigns. Here, marketing takes care of the branding aspect (maintaining the integrity of the brand to the smallest detail such as adhering to brand colors and font size), the creative aspect ( building marketing assets) and the distribution/medium.
