-The balance can be used to find the mass of the a substance.
-Once you have the mass of the substance, you can use it relative mass and the mass obtained to find the moles of the substance using the formula below:   (you have to be aware of the substance to know its relative                              molecular mass)

                           molar mass
-The moles obtained can help you calculate the number of atoms in the substance. You can make this calculation using Avogadro's number. Which is the number of atoms of molecules of any substance per mole.
