generally a human tendency is to get things what they like, but in the real sense these things yields adverse effects on human behavior. e.g humans always run behind money, property etc. but these things make human greedy, egoistic. religion tells us that you should not run behind these things as the life which we are observing is limited, we should rather spend this life & whatever we get from life in helping others. human beings are always attracted towards wrong doing, but religion prevents us from doing these things. e.g as per religion a woman should maintain a curtain between her & people's other than her family, nowadays whatever incidents we are witnessing frequently in day to day world (like rapes), these incidents wouldn't happened if she would have maintained curtain. but nowadays women's find troublesome to maintain curtain, because of which they find themselves in trouble.

there are number of real life examples apart from above, if time persist i will provide you, inshallah.
