Religion (a.k.a. dogmatism) DOES not have any importance whatsoever, it's no more than a mental and psychological structure to keep us constrained. Religion should be something personal, not public, religions limit our potential to evolve and grow intellectually, they may have some positive moral elements in it, but we do not need religion to be moral or a good person.
It goes against logic and reasoning thus leading people blindly, its contribution is rather more negative than positive for it constrains free thinking.
