Teenage pregnancy results mostly from willing sexual activities at a very young age. Some young girls become pregnant because they were afraid to lost their boyfriends. Some of them are influenced by their friends who boast about their sex before marriage.
Religion can play a major role in prevention of teenage pregnancy. Most major religions teach that sex is a gift from God and meant for a man and a woman who are married. Sex before marriage is considered a sin. Sex being the gift of God and not invented by man, it must be respected and not misused. Religion teaches us to obey and honour. Pre-marital sex and pregnancy is a sign of disobedience to our parents. This puts them in a shameful position in the society.
