I do not agree with the given statement. Dr. Herriot had advised Mrs. Pumphrey on several occasions to stop giving her dog anything not meant for it. She didn't listen to him and put Tricki into a bad physical condition. He haad stepped up and was saving Tricki. Instead of letting the wine and eggs go to waste, he ahd decided to share it with his co-workers. Hence, he was not a greedy and materialistic man.
