Solar energy.

Wind energy.

Hydro energy.

Tidal energy.

Geothermal energy.

Biomass energy.

A non-renewable resource is a natural resource that cannot be readily replaced by natural means at a quick enough pace to keep up with consumption. An example is carbon-based fossil fuel. The original organic matter, with the aid of heat and pressure, becomes a fuel such as oil or gas.

Types of natural resources:

  • 1. Inexhaustible Natural Resources.

  • 2. Exhaustible Natural Resources.

• The type of resource which is in unlimited quantity and will not exhaust or end in future are called inexhaustible resources.

Example :- Sunlight.

  • It is one of most common example of inexhaustible resources.

  • Unlimited quantity.

  • It will not exhaust in future or inexhaustible.

They are also called as renewable sources of energy.

• Some sources like air and water are not exhaustible on usage. Hence, These are called Inexhaustible resources.

Ex - Air, water, Sunlight etc.

Exhaustible resources are those resources which cannot be replenished in a short amount of time.

They are also called as Non- renewable sources of energy.

Resources like coal & petroleum take millions of years to form.

Ex - Coal, Petroleum and natural gas.
