Hello there !

Let the unknown number be 'x'

Firstly, we have to apply the divisibility test of 11:

• First add the alternate numbers from left to right -

4+ x + 3 = 7+x

• Other set of numbers :

5+5 = 10

Now the rule is if you subtract the first set of alternate numbers from the second set you should get either a zero or a multiple of 11.

Since in the question, we have been asked to find the smallest digit that's why we will take the difference to be zero .

10- (7+x) = 0

10-7 -x = 0

x = 3

So , the missing number will be 3
