Report #1: Attitudes, Self-Concept and Behaviour
Understanding how our Attitudes affect Our Behaviour

Learning Objective: The purpose of this Report assignment is to allow you to articulate your direct comprehension of how our attitudes can affect our behaviour, which can enhance our interaction with others as well as our overall performance. By utilizing the concepts learned in chapter 3 (Attitudes, Self-Concept, Values and Ethics) you will be able to express and communicate your understanding by applying your knowledge in writing. At this point in the class, you should be able to use your knowledge and understanding in presenting your thoughts in report writing. This will allow you to improve your comprehension and build up your writing skills allowing you to express yourselves as Business Professionals.
The goal of this report is to get you to consider the information you’ve acquired so far in this course and use it to report on an issue that affects you in your personal life. It is important that you grasp the concept of attitude, self-concept, values and ethics as these tools will be essential in your human interactions as well as strengthen your performance within any organizational setting.
To Complete the Assignment Efficiently: You will have to write a report consisting of 3-5 pages (short paragraphs) based on the prompts below. The assignment is to be completed at the end of week 4 or date stated in the assignment folder. Please type this assignment in double space. The rubric by which you will be graded is attached. Simply think about what you know and how it needs to be applied to this particular question based on your personal situation:
Scenario:You are a student at Hanson College and you are in the process of improving your knowledge and expertise as a student that will help you to become a Business Professional. You understand that studying and getting good grades are a gateway to your future success. Write a report using the questions below:

The phenomena of bending of light ray when it travels from

one medium to another medium due to change in speed of light

is called “refraction of light”.

According to optics, the medium

in which speed of light is

more is called rarer medium.

Only when the light ray travels along the normal to the surface,

it does not change the direction.

In all other cases, light bends during refraction.

Rarer medium

According to optics, the medium

in which speed of light is

less is called denser medium.

Denser medium

To understand refraction of light through figures, the following terms are important.

At the point of incidence where the light ray

strikes the interface between the two media,

a line drawn perpendicular to the surface

is known as normal. It is labeled as N

with the help of dotted line in the figure.

NORMAL

The angle between the incident light ray and

the normal is called angle of incidence. Denoted by Li

ANGLE OF

INCIDENCE ( i)

The angle between the refracted light ray and

the normal is called angle of refraction. Denoted by Lr

ANGLE OF

REFRACTION ( r)

When light ray travel from rarer medium

to denser medium,

the refracted light ray

deflects closer to the normal.
