Answer:
Bonalu is a typically Mahakali Goddess festival, a Hindu festival celebrated in Telangana. As it is the month of Ashada means mid of July and August. We have special pooja for our beloved Goddess Mahakali who fulfills our desires.
Explanation:
On first Sunday of Ashada month, the pooja is begun in the form of Yellamma. It is the thanks giving festival. So, all the young girls and ladies wear half saree with lot of gold jewelry. We went to the temple early morning.
Many people were in queues to pay obeisance to mother Goddess and take her blessings. After paying obeisance, we took a round in the temple. Everyone was worshiping and enjoying the festival. Women were dancing by carrying pots on their heads. Rhythmic beats of miraculous drum were forcing everyone to join the dance and honor the Goddess.
As the festival is celebrated for four weeks and specifically Sundays are highlighted. Everyone in twin cities Hyderabad and Secunderabad is busy in celebrating the annual festival.
Women prepare rice including milk and jaggery in a new earthen pot. This traditional pot is covered with Neem leaves mixing with turmeric. It is known as Bonam. My mother too prepared it and carried it on her head while worshipping.
On last week, we again worshipped Yellamma and pay our sincere thanks to Goddess for resolving all the issues in our life.
