☑️Incessant rains are wreaking havoc in at least nine states killing over 100 people and displacing lakhs. At least 5,375 NDRF personnel have been pressed into rescue and relief operations across India as states face the fury of floods and landslides. States have also sought the help of Army, Navy, Air Force as well as teams of local police and SDRF for the rescue efforts. NDRF has rescued over 42,000 people in Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Apart from these six states, parts of Tamil Nadu were also on the brink of the deluge, while Goa and Odisha were reeling under the after-effects of floods as the water levels receded to unveil a trail of destruction. Kerala remains the worst-hit in South India with 57 deaths reported since three days. Educational institutions have been shut, rail and air services have been hit and authorities are scrambling to rescue people from low-lying and submerged areas.
