Individuals with the exceptional Bombayphenotype (hh) do not express H antigen (present in blood groupO). As a consequence, they cannot make A antigen or B antigen on their red blood cells, suchlike alleles they may have of the A and B blood-groupgenes, because A antigen and B antigen are made from H antigen.
