Rivers are called the lifeline of Indian economy for the reason that it gives vital support to the agriculture as the economy of India is based on agriculture. A large section of the Indian society is employed in agriculture, therefore, people use the water of these rivers for irrigation. The rivers all around the world are also used as a mode of transportation. Rivers are the main source of income for the people who live near them for instance, fishermen.
