National icon Sachin Tendulkar arrived in the state capital to inaugurate a School for physically and mentally disabled.
The School has been named as Divine Angels school which will give education to upto class 10.
Along with Academics these children would be trained in activities like music, handicraft and public speaking.
They were excited to see Sachin Tendulkar around them.
All of them made a long queue to take photographs with him and some of them took his autographs on their cricket bat.
The ABC Memorial Special School was inaugurated by celebrity badminton player P. V. Sindhu yesterday in the presence of Education minister of state, Mr. Jeevan Paul and other dignitaries.
It had been a long-cherished dream of the people of Kohima to have such a school, to meet the needs of children with special needs.
Thanks to the generous donors, which includes P. V. Sindhu, the school is equipped with state of art facilities and will have some very experienced staff to look after the children and running of the school.
The dignitaries were taken around the school and shown the specially equipped laboratory and gymnasium by the Principal, Mr. David Jhu.
