Trees are the kindest things we grow’. This has been rightly said as the needs of all the living beings are fulfilled by them. But their depleting number has become a serious issue. To make students aware of this issue and taking initiative towards it, DAV Public School, Patiala celebrated Tree Plantation day in its premises.
The morning assembly started with the speech of Smriti Goyal of class IX-D in which she threw light on the importance of trees in our lives and Gurtegveer of IX-D recited a poem’ Rukh lagde Mainu’ to give message of preserving the flora. About 100 plants were planted by the students of Eco Club in association with Global Human Service organization at DAV Global School. Renowned Social worker Col.Bishan Das, Retd. Commissioner Sh.S. K. Ahluwalia, Principal S. R. Prabhakar, Ms. P. Pal Kaur Incharge Eco Club and Ms. Madhu Khanna House Co-ordinator were present on the occasion.
Students watched working ‘Sewage Treatment Plant’ at DAV Global School. This week was celebrated as ‘Nature Conversation week’ . Students of class I to V enthusiastically participated in the activity of planting trees at home and got themselves photographed. Students visited Shiv Mandir keeping in view the religious importance of Sawan month.
Principal S. R. Prabhakar encouraged students to preserve trees which play a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance. He added that it is the responsibility of each citizen to not only grow but also taking care and protecting them. Concluding the program, he made the students pledge ‘Green School, Clean School’...

Every year, during the first week of July, millions of trees are planted throughout India as part of the Van Mahotsav festival, which is a celebration of tree planting.
Van Mahotsav week will be held on the school grounds from august 16 to August 20, 2022.
The celebration provided a great chance to teach the pupils the importance of protecting forests and trees as well as other activities.
Numerous children from class 10 and other pupils took part in a planting program where the school principal and other dignitaries planted different kinds of medicinal plants like Neem, Aloe Vera, Basil, and so forth.
Some children also took part in a competition to create posters that would raise awareness of the environment. On the subject of "GREEN EARTH, CLEAN EARTH," each student created a poster.
