Report on Eye Donation Awareness Camp The Social Responsibility Cell of Kalindi College had organized an Eye Donation Awareness Camp on 8September 2015. This programme was organized to commemorate 30th Eye Donation Fort Night under the guidance of Prof. (Dr) Anita Panda, Founder member, EBAI,Former ChairpersonEye Bank, Coordinating CommitteeAll India Institute of Medical Science (IIMS), New Delhi. It has been realized that social responsibility is the responsibility of every individual. It is morally binding, and suggests that each person act in such a way that minimizes the adverse affect to those immediately around them. It is a commitment everyone should have towards society – contributing towards social, cultural, health and ecological causes. With this objective the Eye Donation Awareness Camp on the topic “Eye Donation: Why & How” was organized in the SangamParisar ofKalindi College. In this programme, (Dr.) Anita Panda, a well known eye surgeon of the country; Mr.NilaMadhab Panda, Film Maker and Director; Mr. PrabhasPradhan, Director News Bee (a News Agency, New Delhi), Dr. AnulaMaurya, Principal Kalindi College and all the members of the Social Responsibility Cell were present. About more than hundred students attended the camp and took pledge to donate their eyes for the benefit of humankind. The student members of Social Responsibility Cell had collected about three hundred eye donation pledge cards and distributed among the students and teachers.
