    This year the youth club of XYZ School, Delhi, celebrated Independence Day with great pomp and show. All the teachers and youth club members gathered at the William Hall by 10 am. The program began with the hoisting of the flag by the Principal. After hoisting the flag, he delivered a powerful speech about the importance of Independence Day. He encouraged us to become the future Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Then there was patriotic song competition and many dance performances.

The program ended with the national anthem and the distribution of sweets. In my opinion the importance of August 15th is so much because it is that on which we remember the great people who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of India.
