About 35 residents from ‘Krishna Vihar Society’ along with the local MLA and his 6 members team, went to a nearby slum and contacted 22 illiterate men and women to provide them basic education.
Basic education involved teaching them alphabets A-Z, numbers from 1 to 100, calculations regarding addition and subtraction, health and hygiene, and updating them about their own country.
The tools taken for the purpose were projectors, blackboards, slates and chalks.
The first class continued for a period of two hours.
The next scheduled class would be a month later and more than 15 men and women have enrolled themselves for the complete literacy program.
The success was stupendous.
