The Paralympic Games is an important international multi-sport event. The athletes who participate in this event have a range of physical disabilities like impaired muscle power, impaired passive range of movement and limb deficiency.
Paralympics and Special Olympics are two organizations recognized by the International Olympic Committee. The main differences between them lies in the disability of participating athletes and levels of sports ability.
The fifteenth Summer Paralympic Games, governed by the International Paralympic Committee, will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 7 September 2016. The International Olympic Committee has chosen PyeongChang for the 2018 Winter Paralympics and Tokyo for the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
