India’s 3rd national festival, Gandhi Jayanti, was celebrated at A.D.Patel Institute of

Technology to commemorate the 147th birth anniversary of the father of our nation- Mahatama Gandhi. Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at ADIT along with the students of

Sparsh Samvedna Trust, Anand with a great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism to bring

the smile on the faces of special and under privileged students. 29 students including 18

physically challenged special students of Saprsh Samvedana Trust, Anand attended the

function. The programme began at 10.45 AM with a special tribute to Gandhiji. Principal

Dr. R.K. Jain delivered the motivational and encouraging speech to the students. During

the programme students shared the anecdotes from Gandhiji’s life which were

inspirable to all who present in the hall and encouraged to think about the simple livings

of Gandhiji. Volunteers of Sparsh Samvedna Trust briefed about the activities carried

out for the welfare and upliftment of special children & the students from poor families. A

group of blind students enthralled the hall with their singing skills. They sang the

patriotic songs which made the students and faculties emotional and created patriotic

atmosphere. Their singing ability was highly appreciated. Faculties with true sprits came

forward to carry out certain interesting activities for the children. Drawing papers and

material were provided to the students. Students not only drawn the pictures nicely but

through their pictures they have given message like Swachh Bharat, Communal

Harmony, Patrotism etc. To encourage the students a special movie “Karate Kids” was

screened for them, they enjoyed the movie a lot.

At the end of the programme Dr. Vasdev Singh, senior faculty motivated the students.

Gift were distributed to the all the students of Sparsh Samvedna Trust comprising of a

blanket, writing pad and wrist watch (talking watch for the blind students) through the

generous donations from ADIT staff. At the closing of the programme at 4.00 PM we

could found the smile on the faces of everyones. Faculty coordinator Dr. A.S.Kulkarni

proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was concluded with ADIT anthem

followed by National anthem.

This small effort was made by ADIT family as a social responsibility for whom

education, love and honour away from them.
