Keeping the spirit of Vanmahotsav alive with the ongoing tree plantation drive all across the country, a tree plantation programme was held in our colony last week. The Mayor of the city along with a team of 20 workers planted 5000 trees in and surrounding areas of our colony. All the important members of the welfare committee of the colony also contributed to the tree plantation drive. The schoolchildren from a neighbouring school along with the teachers had been invited. Their cooperation was also sought in planting the trees. Addressing the students on the occasion, The Mayor appealed to the students and the colony residents to ensure the sapling's healthy nurturing. He appealed to the students and the residents to adopt trees for the 100% survival and healthy growth of each sapling into full-fledged tree. The media were present to cover the event.
