Pulwama Terror Attack Kills 40 CRPF Personnel

40 CRPF personnel were killed in the goriest suicide terror attack on February 14, 2019. Approximately 2500 CRPF personnel were being moved from Jammu to Kashmir, and as the convoy of buses reached Lethpora, a car laden with explosives was rammed into one of the buses, resulting in terrible explosion. Pakistan based militant organization Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed the responsibility of the attack. The attack led to widespread protests and resentment in India. The Indian Government condemned the attack and firmly stated the attack would be avenged.

On February 26, 2019 Indian fighter jets bombarded the Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarter and training camp building was claimed to have been destroyed. Pakistan took retaliatory action and tried to bombard Indian military installations; but the wary Indian Air Force fighter jets thwarted the attempt. An Indian fighter jet pilot, Abhinadan fell from his fighter jet into the Pakistan territory where he was arrested and later on handed over to Indian Government as per Geneva Convention rules.

The situation between both the neighboring countries is quite tense.
