English, asked by wildlifetower, 5 hours ago

(Reported speech) If the person was talking about a fact, should I change the tense of the fact?
e.g. (original sentence) The teacher explained to us, “ The moon takes 28 days to go around the earth. ”
So should I change it to “ The teacher explained to us that the moon takes 28 days to go around the earth” or “ The teacher explained to us that the moon took 28 days to go around the earth” ?

Please help. Thanks!
