  1. first draw a line Ab of 8.5 cm
  2. then extent 1 cm and mark point c
  3. on ac mark perpendicular bisector
  4. Mark the point D intersecting on line
  5. From D to c draw a semi circle
  6. Pick BC and cut arc
  7. Make 90 degree angle and draw line till point D it will look as a Right angle triangle
  8. Mark the upper point as E
  9. Measure BE and cut arc through B
  10. Extend the line and the point resulting on line is root 8.5 as F
