To draw:

A force of 50 N graphically towards North-West.

Graph:

\boxed{\setlength{\unitlength}{1cm}\begin{picture}(6,6)</p><p>\put(3,3){\vector(1,0){3}}\put(3,3){\vector(-1,0){3}}\put(3,3){\vector(0,1){3}}\put(3,3){\vector(0,-1){3}}\put(3,3){\vector(-1,1){1}}\put(1.5,4.25){50\:N}\put(3.25,5.75){N}\put(3.25,0){S}\put(5.75,3.25){E}\put(0,3.25){W}\end{picture}}

Solution:

  • First we need to draw the co-ordinate axes.

  • Then, we shall choose the scale 50N as 1 cm on the graph.

  • Measure 45° on the 2nd Quadrant using a Protractor or a compass and draw the line.

  • Then using scale or compass , cut a length of 1 cm on the line on the 2nd quadrant.

  • Put an arrow towards N-W direction.

  • Hence , the required vector will be 50N towards N-W direction.

Hope It Helps.
