To represent root 2 on the number line. Draw a number line. Take one unit from 0 and mark it as A. At A draw a perpendicular of 1 unit and mark it as B. Now join B to the origin point i.e, 0. Take an arc taking zero as centre and 0B as radius draw an arc. Join the arc to the number line. That point is root 2.
