As shown figure

Given:

U = {a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h}

A = {a, d, e}  and  B = {b, c, d}

To find:

Represent the above sets in Venn diagram

Solution:

Let's Remember some points about Venn diagram

Venn diagram

  • Venn diagrams are the diagrams which are used to represent the sets, and the relations and operations performed between the them in a pictorial way.
  • To draw a Venn diagram, we will use circles (overlapping, intersecting and non-intersecting) according to the operations or the relationship between sets
  • The universal set (U) will represented by a closed rectangle, which consist all the remaining sets.
  • The sets are shown by using circles or oval shapes.

Given U = {a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h}, A = {a, d, e}  and  B = {b, c, d}

  • To draw the required Venn diagram, first of all draw the universal set using rectangle polygon.
  • Next draw two circles to represent the set A, B and arrange the elements.
