In humans, various organ systems may include respiratory system, nervous system, circulatory system, excretory system et cetera.
For example, the respiratory system helps in moving oxygen from the atmosphere to the inside body and removing carbon dioxide from the inside body to the external environment.
Circulatory system helps in transporting oxygen from gas exchange sites (alveoli) to all the cells of the body. In addition, it brings carbon dioxide from all cells to the exchange site.
The nervous system coordinates the speed or efficiency of the two systems in order to fulfill the oxygen demands of the body. For example, it increases the breathing and heart rates during exercise so that more oxygen can be delivered to the cells.
