let uniform speed be x km/hr.

initial time = 480/x

new time = 480/x-8

as per the given condition,

480/x + 3 = 480/x-8

480/x-8 - 480/x = 3

480x -480x + 3840 /x² - 8x = 3

x² - 8x - 1280

factorize and u will get the answer
