A part of the society comprising of scheduled castes,scheduled tribes,women other backwards caste specially abled is termed as the weaker section of the society.

It was essential to empower this weaker section.They were left out of civil services due to social inequality.In order to establish social justice and provide opportunities to weaker section of the society, reservation policy is followed even in civil services

Reservation policy is followed even in civil service. The Civil service is the most prestigious job of India. According to the reservation system proposed by Dr B R Ambedkar, reservation must be provided to every backward people.

The reservation is applicable in case of the government jobs for both of the Central Government and State Government. The reservation can be referred as the affirmative action.
