Reducing chemical fertilizer and pesticide use: Applying bio-fertilizers and manures can reduce chemical fertilizer and pesticide use. Biological methods of pest control can also reduce the use of pesticides and thereby minimize soil pollution.
Method 1 Reduce Your Waste
Buy biodegradable products.
Store all liquid chemicals and waste in spill-proof containers.
Eat organic foods that are grown without pesticides. ...
Don't use pesticides if you can.
Use a drip tray to collect engine oil.
Buy products that have little packaging.
Don't dump motor oil on the ground.
Biological methods of pest control can also reduce the use of pesticides and thereby minimize soil pollution. Reusing of materials: Materials such as glass containers, plastic bags, paper, cloth etc. can be reused at domestic levels rather than being disposed, reducing solid waste pollution.
causes of soil pollution
Industrial wastes such as harmful gases and chemicals, agricultural pesticides, fertilizers and insecticides are the most common causes of soil pollution. ~ Improper septic system and management and maintenance of the same. ... ~ Fuel leakage from automobiles that get washed away due to rain and seep into nearby soil.
