CHENNAI: Various parts of the city have been experiencing power outages in the past week that last for 15 minutes to half hour.
Areas such as Vadapalani, Saidapet, Mogappair have been the most affected. A resident of Gangai Amman Koil Street, Naveen R, said for the past two days, every night at 12, there is a power outage that lasts for half hour. “During the day also, for 5-15 minutes, there are at least two or three power outages,” he said.
In Pattabiram, residents told TOI that on Friday, there was a power cut for several hours since noon. T Sadagopan, the president of Tamil Nadu progressive consumer centre, said, “The power cut was for several hours and it was unannounced.”
Sreemuga Ramadas, a resident of Thirumalai nagar in Avadi, said they have been experiencing frequent power outages for the past week.
